The Man Himself
Dave was a loving father, husband, friend and an inspirational teacher. Throughout his career, Dave strived to provide the highest quality level of teaching and support to his students, as well as his colleagues. His early career found him teaching sport at various recreational centres, he then taught business students at Harrogate College and Leeds Met University. As his career progressed he pivoted into academic research and then onto staff development at Askham Bryan College, where he got to fulfil his passion for improving the quality of education provided.

Dave was met with many hurdles himself in life, a kidney transplant in 2007 after 4 years of dialysis, which then led to him developing Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2012, another huge battle he overcame. During these difficult times Dave was always thinking about others. He began studying a PHD focused the effects of lifechanging illnesses. He also planned to open a cancer retreat for people who had overcome cancer and were transitioning back into their new normality. He was a Lymphoma research committee member and provided guidance to other sufferers.

Devastatingly in 2021 Dave contracted covid19. After a 2 month battle, he sadly passed away. His wife and daughter were determined to continue his legacy by setting up the David Brown Foundation.
